What happens to your files and answers
Underpicture is in beta, made by one person, Daniel Fainberg (dafaspace). This page says plainly what is stored, for how long, and who can see it.
In short: files and answers are deleted 30 days after a link is made. No ads, no tracking cookies, no outside analytics. The client never sees the sender's email address.
If you send a link
- Your files (the video, the tracks, and one frame taken from the video for the link preview) are stored so the link can play them.
- Your email address is stored only to send you the client's answer. It is kept apart from everything the link shows, so the client cannot see it.
- Your name and the project name, if you give them, are shown to the client and in the link preview.
- Your email, name and access code are also remembered in your own browser, so you do not have to type them again. They stay on your device.
- You should only upload material you are allowed to share with your client for review.
If you received a link
- Anyone who has the link can watch the video and hear the tracks. The address is long and random, so it cannot be guessed, but anyone you forward it to can open it.
- Your answer (the ratings, what you liked and did not like, your note, how long you listened to each track, and any volume you changed) is saved and emailed to the person who sent you the link.
- Your language choice is remembered in your browser.
Statistics
To find out whether the tool works on real phones, Underpicture counts what happens to each link: whether it was opened, played and answered, how often the tracks were switched, the kind of device and browser (for example "iPhone, Safari"), the screen size, and technical errors such as a file that could not be played.
These counts contain no email addresses and nothing anyone typed. They are kept for the length of the beta and are seen only by the maker of Underpicture.
Where it is kept, and for how long
- Files, answers and the sender's email are stored with Cloudflare (R2 storage), and are deleted automatically 30 days after the link is made.
- The email with the client's answer is sent through Resend.
- No cookies are set. Nothing is shared with advertisers.
Deleting something sooner, or asking a question
Write to hello@underpicture.com with the link, and it will be deleted, along with the answers to it.
